The Mistula Souvenir is a special merchandise for the band’s BJDisciples. Released in time for Mistula’s Second Coming update, it contains the limited edition shirt for BJDs, a miniature wooden rosary, and a card featuring a member of the band.

The limited edition shirt for BJDs now comes in 5 designs, 4 of which are all-new Mistula character shirts featuring each member of the band: (from top) Lugosi, Manx, Uno and Dragan. They can be pre-ordered to be included in the Mistula Souvenir, each with a free miniature rosary and the corresponding card.

The Mistula: Second Coming shirt design is still available and can still ordered to be included in the Mistula Souvenir until the next web update (tentatively set for Holy Week).

The Mistula shirts are made for SD13 boys and SD13 girls, or similar-sized dolls. Shirts for MSDs and other smaller dolls will be available soon.

Uno’s rosary is made of native wooden beads and brown thread, typical of the traditional Filipino rosaries found in the old churches. Uno found his favorite rosary in the historic San Agustin Church in Manila (please click III Tour on the main site).

Manx’s rosary is a special gift for her Lishe sisters. It will be included in place of Uno’s rosary once specified that the Mistula Souvenir is for a Lishe.

Manx’s rosary is of thread and white bleached wooden beads. It may be used as a necklace for a Lishe, or a bracelet for the doll owner.

A card of your favorite band member is included in the Mistula Souvenir. It is printed on metallic paper and wrapped in parchment.

The entire Mistula Souvenir (limited edition shirt, rosary, and card) costs USD 15. To order, please send an email to webmessiah@mistula.com indicating the type of BJD you own, favorite band member and your address. We will email you back about shipping and other details. Paypal (balance or bank account transfers only) or Western Union payments are accepted.

Mistula : Second Update

Posted in Second Coming on December 29th, 2004 by webmessiah – Be the first to comment

Mistula continues to challenge Pinoy Rock conventions with an update of its official website and a new song/poetry release, “Baptized”, a deeply personal chronicle of a man being drowned by the confines of his beliefs.

Following their debut release “Mulat” (consistently at the top of the Bestsellers list of pinoy-radio.com, a New Jersey-based online radio with an all-OPM playlist), Mistula’s new song introduces new guitarist, Dragan, adding to the already net-infamous roster of bassist/ vocalist Uno, guitarist Manx, and drummer/ bandleader Lugosi.

Aside from the two songs available for free download, the latest Mistula website update also features new photos of the bandmembers, as well as new artworks extending from and inspired by the band’s over-all theme, an affecting new article delving on faith, and an all-new merchandise section featuring souvenir doll-sized shirts, postcards, and rosaries.

Making full use of the internet and its almost limitless capabilities to reach out to a worldwide audience, Mistula has garnered raves from doll-collecting communities, J-rock followers, and heavy music enthusiasts, aided primarily by the band’s consistently thought-provoking website, a regularly updated blog, and a tagboard where followers may leave messages and exchange words with the bandmembers themselves. All these, supported by a growing international fanbase of its bassist/ frontman Uno’s popular photo blog. Make no mistakes though: Mistula has its roots firmly on local soil: with lyrics entrenched in poetic Filipino passages, artworks inspired by Filipino pop culture, and themes critiquing Philippine Catholicism. Mistula is an all-Filipino band project, choosing only to approach everything quite… differently.

“We love to pose a question on anything and everything, especially on the beliefs we have all been comfortable with, by trying to shake things up a bit - hopefully resulting in something entirely original… we’ll keep releasing songs/ poetry/ artworks through the website and just continue showcasing how rich and full of complexities this culture of ours has.” Mistula drummer and bandleader, Lugosi, quotes.

Mistula : Second Coming

The Official Band Site of Mistula is finally updated. Thank God for people like Bennet Dychangco, who has written two insightful essays especially for Mistula; Eric Sanchez, who gave us a CD-ful of his artworks from his one-year stint as a student and furniture-store receptionist in London; the web and rock guru Jim Ayson for featuring Mistula on his much-awarded website, Philmusic; DJ Bobby of Pinoy-Radio for inviting Mistula to play online; Bob Reyes, who provides the stage and extra bandwidth for our show; Tangled Web’s Djinn and Mae, for introducing the band to the Singapore BJDom through their much-visited website; Jhoann for her constant updates on the SD front and her unwavering support (tech or otherwise); our good friend Sam Munir, who is always first to cheer for Mistula, and who has been kind enough to let her precious Dragan be part of the band; and to all the people who send us encouraging words and constantly inspire us to sing.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be,
Lugosi, Uno, Manx and Dragan
