The Philippine internet backbone, PLDT, has recently been experiencing connectivity problems. This has been affecting the local servers, including that of Mistula.com. If you are unable to access any of the Mistula sites, you may need to specify the DNS servers on your computer. Here’s the drill:

FOR WINDOWS USERS:

For Users on a Dial-up Connection:
1. Go to My Computer > Dialup Networking.
2. Right-click your internet connection and select Properties.
3. A window will open - click the Server Types tab. Click TCP/IP Settings.
4. Input the following numbers on their corresponding fields:
Preferred DNS server: 62.72.64.237
Alternate DNS server: 62.72.64.241

For All Other Users:
1. Go to Control Panel>Network Connections and select your local network.
2. Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
3. Click Properties.
4. Input the following numbers on their corresponding fields:
Preferred DNS server: 62.72.64.237
Alternate DNS server: 62.72.64.241

You may also refer to this simple guide:
http://www.mediacollege.com/computer/network/dns.html

FOR MAC OSX USERS:

1. In the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
2. Select Network.
3. If the network settings are greyed out, click on the lock icon in the lower left corner of the screen and enter the administrator username (if different from what is displayed) and password. If the network settings are not greyed out then proceed to next step.
4. Click on TCP/IP on the dialog box that comes up.
5. Enter the two DNS addresses on the fields allotted for DNS Servers:
62.72.64.237
62.72.64.241

6. Click Apply Now.

If you encounter any more connection problems, please let us know immediately. We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope you will continue to visit Mistula and Fully Articulated.

Thank you very much for the support.

NO TO INTERNET THEFT

NO TO INTERNET THEFT

Lights… camera… action.
Action.
Um, action.

Behind the scenes, it was all work and no play for the ragged, renegade Mistula crew. Again, much thanks for the patience, hard work, and faith of the following people and entities for the miracles they’ve made: Marco Estacio, Rainier Pengson, Gary Gardoce, Edith Esguerra, Jojo Tatlonghari Studios, Tadpole, Industria, and Derrick Periodico.

Mistula’s “Mulat” music video is now enjoying airplay on MTV Asia and MYX. The video was initially a world wide web-exclusive through the Black Rosary, the Official Mistula Fanclub. Click here for download instructions.

MISTULA on MYX

Posted in Uncategorized on January 15th, 2006 by Mistula – Be the first to comment

Being primarily an internet-based band hasn’t stopped Mistula from crossing over and dabbling with the more familiar forms of media, if only to expose more followers to the flock (and to prove the “campaignability of the idea” as Uno would say).

The band has previously been published twice on pages outside the web (details here and here) courtesy of Rock Nation Magazine. And now, Mistula has also found its way to the good old traditional medium - the TV.

Their first ever music video, “Mulat”, is currently enjoying airplay on MYX, one of the Philippines’ biggest music channels.

Philippine-based followers may send requests and vote for the video by texting (we aren’t called the texting capital of the world for nothing) the following message: MYX VOTE MULAT by MISTULA and by sending it to 2366 (don’t forget the spaces in between). Or, by texting one of the MYX VJ’s, for example: MYX VJIYA YOU ARE SO CUTE PLS PLAY MULAT by MISTULA (YOUR NAME), then by sending it to 2366 (again, the spaces are sacred).

Mistula’s world wide web faithfuls may still download the video for free by joining the official fan club, The Black Rosary, where the band’s future creative efforts will also be released. Click here for joining/ downloading details.

A Growing Flock

Black Rosary, managed by the mysterious Black Rose, now has more than 200 members. The flock still welcomes Mistula devotees. Please click on the photo above to join. If you are having trouble with the online form, please email the information the Black Rose requires to blackrosary@mistula.com.

Though fully endorsed and supported by Mistula, Black Rosary is autonomously run and based overseas.  Inquiries on the cultural background of the band and/or questions in the Filipino language may be directed to the webmessiah@mistula.com.

Thank you for being part of the flock.

More MYSTERIES

Posted in Mysteries on January 4th, 2006 by webmessiah – Be the first to comment

MYSTERIES, the latest series of Mistula web updates, stays true to its name.

Initially announced to last until December of last year, related updates shall actually continue until the early months of the new year with yet more, still unannounced creative efforts lined up to be revealed by the band.

They’re being tightly-lipped about it all (they couldn’t help it, really).

Mistula:Mysteries started last October with a redesign of the Main Site, the launch of Black Rosary: the official Mistula Fanclub, and the world wide web premiere of their first ever music video, Mulat. Stay tuned to all Mistula-relevant sites for the Word on this ongoing series of updates.
