Facing the Dollmaster.

After my sad parting with Tsukisou, Joey and Rey decided to cheer me up by taking me to see the Korean movie Dollmaster. They thought I would enjoy the movie, since it features the Customhouse fellows St. Mina and St. Demian, who I also met in Domuya.

The Dollmaster movie premiere in Manila featured a doll contest and exhibit in Robinson’s Galleria, a popular mall in Ortigas Center.

Joey had high hopes that we will find another Super Dollfie in the movie premiere. She was also expecting that I win for her the prize money for the contest.

Joey later finds out that for me to be eligible to join, she will need to leave me in the mall for the two-week Dollmaster exhibit.

And then she finds out that the prize money is 5,000 pesos – roughly 90 US dollars – just enough to buy me a nice pair of boots at MinoruWorld, but not enough for Joey to leave me in the mall at the mercy of thieves or even worse, KIDS.

Seeing the other contestants, Joey is convinced more than ever that to Filipinos, the word Dollfie can only pertain to our local King of Comedy.

I met St. Mina sulking in Domuya. I saw no one in the exhibit that resembled her in the slightest. In fact, the first prize went to a traditional samurai doll inside a glass case. There was a lot of blood in Dollmaster, but it did not involve samurais.

Joey still retains her title as the First and Only BJD Owner in the Philippines.

As for the movie, I did not find it the least bit scary.

Joey did not like the movie. She said its only highlight was when I fell back on the seat during one particularly shocking scene.

But I SWEAR that was only because Rey jumped off his seat and hit me. Blast you, Rey!

  1. Of course Uno, of course. *rolls eyes*

  2. O_O You saw it? Oh, it looks so scary! St Mina doesn’t look like she really enjoyed the experience of being in the film. I hope she’s happier with the others at Domuya. Sorry to hear you couldn’t enter the uhm, doll show. I’m sure you would have won. ^_^

  3. Well, if you weren’t covering your eyes the whole time, you would have been able to avoid me… had to go and get some more popcorn during that time… uh huh, that’s right.

  4. I don’t remember us having popcorn at that time, Rey. But I remember SOMEONE shrieking eight octaves higher before THAT PERSON hit me.

  5. She doesn’t seem happy at Domuya either, Kitori. (=_=) Have you seen Dollmaster? IT’S NOT THAT SCARY! REALLY!

Shut up before I poke your eyes out, Aiden.

  6. That’s because you can’t have popcorn, m’man ;-) And… eight octaves? It must have been Joey, then =)

  7. I said 8, not 16 octaves higher. Besides, she was too busy identifying Customhouse headmolds.

    YOU WERE SCARED! ADMIT IT!

  8. Uh-huh. Right. NOT JUST A RIVER UNO! Stop trying to shift focus to Rey. Très suspicious man.

  9. Ahahaha! I certainly would think that a Dolpy doll would be the most scariest of ANY doll in existence!! Besides, I never understood the so-called “genius” to Dolphy comedy. Filipino toilet humor escapes me also!

Rey was screaming? Uno, maybe he just burned his fingers on the hot popcorn? *bailing Rey out*

  10. LOL at dollfie king of comedy hahaha

  11. Aiden, instead of poking at Uno, why don’t you just ask me out to a movie?

  12. How about a Super Dolphy, JhoAnn? That would be Dolphy in a superhero costume! *arekup ang tuhod ko*

  13. Thank you, JoAnn and Aiden. You two are easily the most sensible persons in here. =)

  14. WOW!… Dollmaster in the Philippines !
Uno looked so regal and purty!……
