The Mistula Disciples: Edith

The road to the Mistula: Resurrection is riddled with thorns and bad puns. Joey felt she must outdo the first two editions, so she made concept sketches that are too difficult to shoot with her current set-up (a tiny but amazingly well-lit space in the garage right behind her car). So she made her sad predicament known to her friend, the photographer Edith, who, full of mercy, let Joey (ab)use her studio and several parts of her house.
There are four photography themes to the Mistula Holy Week update: Crucifixion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension. I interpreted Crucifixion in black ribbons and bondage, while Dragan and his holy doves symbolized Ascension. Death was Manx’s theme, and she was to be engulfed in darkness. Unfortunately, it was a concept too ambitious for Joey’s available space and equipment.
Enter Edith.

Edith is not very fond of gothic themes. She is a child photographer, and her portfolio is full of happy, sunshiny faces. But she brought Joey’s concept to, well, digital life, with a couple flashlights, three face mirrors, a pair of old sneakers and all the black fabric she could find in her closet.

During the shoot, Manx kept flopping on the floor, dropping her guitar, and generally making life difficult for Joey, Edith and Rey (who came from work and was hoping to get some rest, poor thing). Edith learned one lesson from Manx’s exasperating session: Stick to kids.

Bella Lugosi is the Risen One. His theme is Resurrection. His only props are metal chains and strips of gauze held up by one of Edith’s curtain rods, but Lugosi spent a good three hours getting ready for the shoot. Pah. Some people can be such primadonnas.

Lugosi, despite his snarly opinions against posers, is a good poser. He kept his stance for hours, uncomplaining, while Edith adjusted the lights and Joey ate cheese-flavored ice cream.

Joey and Edith felt they could’ve done better, but it was getting late, and the buttered corn on the cob can no longer wait.

Edith’s reluctant venture into digital photography (she is a film believer) is on exhibit at Mistula: Resurrection. She has also promised to help shoot Mistula on their next tour.

LOL, Manx is being a primadonna and giving you a hard time, huh? Jhoey needs to learn that clear fishing line can be a godsend to use when trying to hold props on hand with these difficult dolls!
Now, we must begin the assimilation of Edith into the digital collective.

Ah, it’s only natural for the beautiful lady to give her photographers an extremely hard time during shoots. Everything came out excellent though, Joey ^^

Rockstars will be rockstars!
I love behind the scene shots! Joey’s lucky to have such connections ^^

Mmmmm cheese-flavored ice cream! Tell Edith her pics are fantastic, despite Manx’s drunken state XD

You can’t expect an SD with Lutts lineage to be a slave to humans such as all Volks SD’s are
Pretty Manx! *drools*
April 12th, 2005 - 07:48
Manx must have been really tired!! she’s not used to just standing in front of the camera heehee!!
*joking*
Anyway i’m loving this behind the scene update!!!!!!!! more!!

Jhoann: Like this?
It doesn’t seem to work in Manx’s case. We’ve repeatedly told her to stay away from Jack Daniels before a shoot, but she refuses to listen. (=_=)

Judy: HMPH. Standing is boring. I’d rather be doing more difficult positions like, say, lotus or splitting-a-bamboo.
April 12th, 2005 - 19:54
Joey: sorry abt running off halfway, had to help my mum with something. ^^;; Catch u online soon. hopefully yapi too!
April 12th, 2005 - 20:55
Difficult positions? Louts? Splitting-a-bamboo?
How about Spread Ea-*gets choked by Yapi*
April 12th, 2005 - 21:21
Well, all the disasters aside, Minuet turned out cool.
Wow, Lugosi looks… Egyptian! I lurves it.
And why do we have to crucify poor Uno?
April 13th, 2005 - 01:50
Judy: Moms must always come first! Really, it’s okay! I had to go out have dinner with Rey, too! I’ll chat with you again tomorrow, okay? (^^)
April 13th, 2005 - 01:55
Ceras, Dami and Yuito: Unlike Volks SDs, us CPfolk were made to be in more exciting, horizontal positions.
April 13th, 2005 - 01:57
Purinpuff: He looks like an Egyptian coming out of a mosquito net! XD
April 13th, 2005 - 01:59
Purinpuff: Because if we crucify Manx, it will be a very unholy picture.
Veritas: There goes your music career, kid.
April 13th, 2005 - 10:14
Ahahah, is that Manx or Veritas in the pic? Veritas new occupation = puppet
Eww, Manx shoots whiskey? >_
April 13th, 2005 - 15:34
Manx We are?
Veritas Even if Lugosi is the mosquito itself he’d still look hot! :p
April 13th, 2005 - 17:24
Jhoann saw this post, right?
Manx says she likes it hard.
April 13th, 2005 - 17:27
Himiko: Floating in dishwashing liquid also qualifies as a horizontal position so … yes.
And Lugosi is a vampire, not a mosquito, but then both are suckers, so I don’t think it makes that much of a difference.
April 14th, 2005 - 10:34
Veritas: Hey! Floating in dishwashing liquid felt good
I’d be a willing victim if its Lugosi XP
April 14th, 2005 - 23:36
Himiko: Hey. Who are you? Himiko’s here! IMPOSTOR!
Wait. Himiko-looking-all-innocent-over-there, are you the impostor?
April 15th, 2005 - 17:03
Veritas:Being an imaginary friend has its kicks
April 15th, 2005 - 17:49
PAKSHET! She’s not Himiko! Go away, impostor!
April 17th, 2007 - 17:36
