It’s Not Easy Being Green: The Farm Food Review

The Farm at San Benito is so overpopulated with plants that some just had to be eaten. I pity the poor, helpless plants, but such is the law of life. Much to my dismay, the Greenpeace activists also do not seem concerned with their welfare. Don’t vegetables have rights, too?

The Farm’s Organic Salad is so fresh Joey thought it will grow into a rainforest right before her own eyes. Their strange menu contains unappetizing words like “enzymes” and “dehydrators”.

The luckier plants live (for a day or two) to be in various floral arrangements, some of which can be found in the most unexpected places.

On a side note, Joey said it is wrong to call this place a restroom, as she felt restless the entire time she was here.

I am glad I won’t have to eat anything that has a life. I shudder at the thought of being possessed by the ghosts of vengeful enzymes.

The photos of the salad, peacock and rest(show)room are contributed by Rey. He didn’t have much of a choice but, thanks, man.

  1. Ah, nature. That restroom sure is peculiar >_>

  2. It’s a restroom only Manx would love.

  3. Oh goodness. The place looks lovely! I have to go there sometime. XD;

  4. Do you need a tour guide? (^^)

  5. I’d feel restless too (O.O)
Anyone could be in the bushes…lurking…watching.
Did Joey have you stand guard, Uno?
I can’t believe you guys were serious about there being no meat. I thought that was a sick sick joke.I still want to go though. It’s quite beatiful.

P.S. Did Rey run away from the peacock too? (^^)

  6. Hi Uno. I’ve known you since The Phlog, but never had the guts to leave a comment because … um, you leave me speechless. T_T

God, you are so beautiful. I thought Tsukasa Konoe was the most beautiful of BJDs but you outdid him – er, yourself. I hope my excessive admiration does not scare you. T_T And yes, I’ve been stalking you since the first time I saw you.

I have a question for the great Joey: How do you make Uno so expressive? I’ve been looking at BJDs all over the internet, but yours are always the most lifelike. (I also stalk your Veritas.) Uno is singularly amazing. He can look very happy or very sad. And his skin seems so soft. How do you do it?

I also posted links to your site on DoA. I hope you are not angry. I will delete my posts if you want me to. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with all of us.

  7. Uh, I wonder bout someone walking on the other side of where that bathroom is! LOL! *Uno having bowel movement problems*

Jhoeeeey, my sister said she saw the commercial for this spa on tv while she was in Manila! I showed her your posts and she said, we definitely have to go check it out when we go back to PI for a visit!

*drags Jhoey and Veritas with us* Hehe, I like the unexpectedness of the peacock in that picture!

  8. Oh wow so very beautiful! ^-^

  9. Ahh… truly this is the garden of Eden

  10. Annie: The Farm is originally a place for ailing rich people (because only they can afford the prices) to convalesce. That is why they serve only the healthiest vegetarian food and do not allow smoking within a mile. The developers must’ve realized there are more potentials to the place and opened it for tourists as a health spa. (^^)

  11. dollface: Goodness. Are you sure you’re on the right blog? I seriously don’t think we deserve such praise. Uno is still reeling from shock.

BJDs, especially the Volks variety, are naturally expressive. They can change their expressions with light, shadow, proper angles and believe it or not, wigs. I guess a lot of people underestimate wigs. Wigs help create the mood you want to achieve. A bad wig can also make a beautiful doll ugly.

Uno has the newer type of resin called Pureskin, so his skin appears translucent and soft. I also customized my camera’s White Balance settings so it registers more red, which gives Uno a warmer, more lifelike color. We also live in a tropical country, and have plenty of natural light. I realized that indoor pictures will always give you a bluish cast, unless you have the right equipment. I avoid shooting indoors. My indoor shots always disappoint me.

How can I possibly be angry at you after all your complements? (^^; Just please let me know which links you posted on DoA. Sometimes, we don’t post on DoA for a reason.

Thank you very much. Uno is still in shock.

  12. Jhoann: Are you sure it’s this place? I don’t think The Farm has been advertised on national TV. It really is not a tourist place, and they accept very limited guests. Could she have confused it with a different place? There is a place here called The Spa, too. Or maybe she saw a feature on a lifestyle program?

You should definitely go! If you stay at the Shangri-La Hotel, they sometimes offer special package rates to The Farm. (^_~)

  13. OMG I can’t believe I’m finally talking to you! T_T I absolutely adore your Uno. My wall is full of his pictures. I actually am toying with the idea of making an Uno fan shrine, with your permission.

I wish I were as talented as you are! You take the most wonderful pictures! *_*

I’m so sorry about posting a link to your site before I asked for permission! T_T I posted Veritas’ trip to the office on the thread “Take Your Doll To Work Day”. It’s on General Discussion. I can take it down if you wish!

Thank you for you time! I love you, Uno! X3

  14. Uno is not sure if he deserves a fan shrine, but you can make him one, if you wish. I hope you let us see your site before you take it online! Thank you!

There are many doll owners out there with amazing dolls and equally amazing photos. Some of them are under HAUNTS on the sidebar. Please make sure you visit their sites, too!

    I really don’t think we’re worthy of such lavish praise, but, well, thank you! (^^;;

  15. I’ve seen a lot of BJDs, but Uno will always be my Numero Uno. He has such a warm personality. His posts are always so well-written, witty and inspiring. He always has something beautiful to share, whether it be his sadness or his intelligent observation of things that we humans tend to overlook. I think this is what sets him apart from the others. He has so much soul.

  16. Um. Are you sure you’re referring to the Uno we know? (O_O)

  17. HAHA! Of course, Veritas. There is only one Uno. ^^

  18. Ah it’s one of those spas. There is one nearby to me but I have never been there.
No smoking? Oh I yearn to go there. Traffic and exhaust is readily available in the city.(-_-)v
Take me with you next time!! (^^)

  19. *sigh* Ahh, thanks for posting those gorgeous photos. I feel relaxed just by looking at it. ^^

    *goes off to work again*

  20. I can’t believe I missed this loveliness. But I am still a neophyte when it comes to lj. Love the pictures. You must take me to this place when I come see you all

  21. Mommy Amy: Yay, now you have more reason to come over! >: ]

  22. ahaha nakakakabang restroom…feeling mo kailangan mong magdala ng payong para lang matakpan ka. lol
