Oi Dragan!
… Who might you be?

Is your surname Alzheimer? I’m Rosarey. We used to live in the same house with Sam in the UK.
Minka’s friend, Rosarey? You don’t bloody look like Rosarey.

You don’t bloody look like Dragan, too. I was just making an assumption. Are you Dragan?
Jolly good. You are Rosarey, alright. What are you doing here?

Sam said in the Philippines, dolls can become rock stars. I want to be a rock star.
Is that for real?
WE’RE ON MTV!

And the network execs saw what Mistula did, and they saw that it was good to air. Mistula’s Mulat music video is on MTV Asia, a small feat for a one-year-old, not-so-live indie band like ours. Again, we would like to thank Marco Estacio, Rainier Pengson, Gary Gardoce, Edith Esguerra, Jojo Tatlonghari and his crew, Tadpole and all the gods who made miracles for Mistula. (And next time, let there be a production budget.)

Dragan wears the Mistula trademark black “puppet strings” with his Volks leather pants. Thank you, Sam, for funding his business trip to the Philippines.

No Joey, No Life.

This long period of blog inactivity is due to the fact that I find myself unable to do anything when Joey is away. She spent the last week in Bangkok for a series of conferences. Before her trip, she helped Manx pack her clothes (which are not a lot because Manx prefers to travel light) and left her at the last minute, because Joey felt her Powerbook is a more helpful traveling companion. I was glad she left Manx behind; I am uncomfortable not being her first priority. I would like to think this blog is so named because I am her favorite. She won’t be typing this entry for me if it were otherwise, eh?

Joey at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.
She will share more photos soon, as per my order.
WE’RE ON TV!
VJ Luis said MYX is first to play the music video of the first-ever doll rock band. Mistula’s Mulat is now on Premiere at MYX, the Philippines’ biggest music channel. Joey’s Mom, who saw it a while ago, exclaimed, “What is Uno doing on TV?”
Often copied, but never duplicated.

I thought twice about posting these photos. I was afraid I’d find myself on Friendster looking for a relationship as a 19 year old boy again, or worse, bloodied by some girl who got dumped by her boyfriend. But I realize – for Nicky, who gave this awesome shirt, and the wonderful people who leave messages for us everyday – looking like a zombie or a 19 year old nerd may be something I can get used to.
