What’s so good about goodbye?

Manx?

Veritas said you’re not going to the ManikaManila ball?

No, I’m not. Please tell Ceras I’m not feeling well. Sorry.

It’s okay. You rest.

Uno, can you stay a while?

Why does everyone leave me?
Manx, you know that’s not true.

But it is. My parents left me. There’s Blanc, but she’s never really here. Damien left me, too, then Lugosi and now, Dragan. Is there something wrong with me?

They left for their own reasons. And don’t be sad, you’re not alone.

I am here.

Uno, you need to be at the ball. They’re all excited to see you.
There will be a next time.

Hey. Jenny gave you a book. You want me to read it for you? I know the only things you’re interested in reading are music sheets but –

God, Uno, you’re such a dork.

But look, it has lots of pretty pictures and “inspiring thoughts from today’s brightest and boldest women” –

Thanks, Uno.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Manx’s favorite quote from the book our friend, Jenny, gave her is one by Sandra Bernhard. It reads, “My nipples are in their prime.”
Yesterday, we also said goodbye to our dearest friend, Akira. We hope he is now playing his silly tricks with newfound friends in dog heaven.

You will be loved and remembered for as long as we live.

your dog?… TwT I hope everyone in your family is well despite of your loss..
Manx everyone is hre for you~ We’re here for you, don’t be sad ^_^
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:22
Thank you so much.
February 27th, 2006 - 19:02
Awww, that’s so sweet! And Big big hugs to you, Joey! Maybe your doggy is off playing with my doggy wherever beloved pets go when they die. *SQUISH* ^__^
February 27th, 2006 - 23:01
I hope your dogs will befriend a white Pinoy breed sort-of-husky-looking dog named Feline. She died, rather, was killed, when we were just wee lads and it just broke my heart so. Swore off never to have pets after then.
Yes, I know the name is ironic but we were young, and we just saw Bambi, and I could’ve sworn that’s what his love interest’s name was.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:28
It warms the heart so to know that Akira will have so many friends in doggie heaven. :3 I hope they’re all happy and playing with each other now.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:26
Leigh, you are the first person that came to my mind when he passed away. It’s comforting to know that Indy will be there to be his friend. *hug*
February 27th, 2006 - 20:30
I can understand since I lost my dog a couple of years ago. May they be playing well with each other in the doggy heaven ^__^
Uno, you’re so sweet ?
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:38
Thank you for such a nice thought. I guess there’s no need to be sad knowing Akira’s having fun with friends now.
February 27th, 2006 - 22:01
Awwww..How sweet… *tears* Now I know…
Btw,”\m/” at Manx’s favorite quote! Ohoho! ^.^
Oh,I’m sorry about Akira. As said by Leigh, Akira may be playing with her doggy somewhere out there, but he may be also chasing my Misty(my Siamese Cat, who got lost or passed away almost 5 years ago..:( *sad*). Eeep!
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:30
Knowing Akira, he’d probably be running away from Misty.
He’s a disgrace to his proud breed, but we loved him anyways.
February 27th, 2006 - 22:16
Aaaw Uno is so sweet
I am really sorry about your dog *hugs*
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:30
Thanks, Claudia. *hugs*
February 27th, 2006 - 23:04
Yay Uno! Long live us dorks!
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:32
Uh, yay.
March 2nd, 2006 - 16:04
Oh c’mon. Everyone knows girls love well-read men.
…right?
March 3rd, 2006 - 22:37
Is that so?
March 4th, 2006 - 00:52
…well, almost all girls.
February 28th, 2006 - 00:16
I’m so sorry. Pets never live long enough. But the joy of their shorter lives live with us forever. It’s been 10 years and there are moments when I still miss my Bannor. So in a way she still makes me smile.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:36
So many pets have come and gone in my lifetime (the shortest-lived was a caterpillar named Leaf), and they each leave me with a fond memory. You are so right. I just wish they weren’t snatched from us so abruptly.
February 28th, 2006 - 01:05
Awww, Uno, you’re such a sweetie! *hug*
And extra big bear hugs for Manx! *HUUUUUGZ* I know what it feels like to be left behind…but that’s a long story. XD;
And awww, Joey. *hugs* Like Leigh, Jie, and Alodia said, Akira’s probably off in heaven with our dogs (and cat, haha). I’m sure Panda (my sweet Yellow Labrador who died 3 days before my 16th birthday) will be a good friend. ^_^
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:41
*steals you away from Shiro*
With so many new friends, mayhap Akira’s happier where he is now than when he was here putting up with Joey’s sorry antics.
February 28th, 2006 - 01:22
Dear dear Joey, I’m so sorry. You had such a sweet-looking Dobe. He is a Doberman, right? I hope he meets Boner in dog heaven, too.
Uno, tell me the truth. Did you not feel the slightest bit of lust being so close to those perfect boobs? I’m sorry, Manx, I can’t help myself. I’m still staring.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:44
I am a gentleman and I am careful not to take advantage of a woman in her most vulnerable state, thankyouverymuch.
I can’t believe you named your dog Boner.
February 28th, 2006 - 04:38
Manx, while the ones we treasure may not always be a breath away, the internet makes the it truly a small world after all. ‘Sides, you’re so irresistable that one can not stay away for long. Much like the gravitational pull of a planet. (Because I, too, am a dork. *grin*)
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:10
Thanks for the pretty book, Jenny. It’s really inspiring.
Sigh, I always fall in love with the wrong men. There must be some cracks in my head.
February 28th, 2006 - 04:45
My sympathies for your loss. The dinner plate that I liked to call Larry (a black moor goldfish who changed color nearly everyday) died a few weeks ago, so maybe Akira’s keeping him company. *hugs*
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:57
I’m so sorry to hear that, Jenny. And maybe in spirit form, Larry won’t look as tasty to a dog.
February 28th, 2006 - 06:01
At least you gave him a good and happy life when he was with you and you’ll always have sweet, fond memories of him.
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:04
I am sure you’d understand my grief, Jan, being a pet lover yourself. It is always traumatic how helpless you feel when a pet slips away from you the way Akira did. I really should’ve studied to become a veterinarian, then maybe I could’ve done something to help him.
Thank you for your reassurance. I am in better spirits now.
February 28th, 2006 - 06:34
That is so sweet! Good old Uno is certainly living up to his namesake, huh? Being number One and steady as a rock. Poor Manx.
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:14
Yes, I’m the rock. I am the people’s champion.
February 28th, 2006 - 07:34
much love to all of you. *hugs* i hope Akira meets my red doberman Angel, and Brittany Spaniel Jip. *heart*
oh, manx. someday you’ll see him again. until then, chin up dear. let the music heal your heart.
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:22
Akira is a red Doberman, too! Well, not exactly red. Sort of like a reddish kind of brown, but you know what I mean.
I should distract myself and make more music, but that will just remind me of Dragan and Lugosi. It’s hopeless.
March 1st, 2006 - 08:03
How very sweet of Uno ~*~*~*
poor Manx..
Iam sorry about Akira,Joey..
*givesyou and your group a hug*
♥ ♥ xoxo
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:26
Thank you so much, Mia. This means a lot to us. *hugs*
March 1st, 2006 - 08:45
Oh, Manx.
*greatbighugs* to you and Joey.
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:34
*hugs you, too* Thanks so much, Emera.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:49
Joey, I’m so sorry about your dog. T_T You really don’t deserve to be sad. I will light a candle for your Akira.
I can’t believe how you manage to write such beautiful stories when you’re depressed. You really are my hero. *hugs*
PS. Uno, I know this is crazy but I’ve totally fallen for you.
March 2nd, 2006 - 00:51
Make that two candles for Akira. I’m so sorry, Joey. *hugs*
I wish I were Manx. Not only will I have perfect breasts, I will also get the chance to snuggle up with Uno. *_*
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:43
Oh, thank you, Mathilde. This is so heartwarming. *hugs*
Don’t you think it’s a better idea if we wished for Uno to become a real man?
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:47
HELL YEAH! But if he became a real man, will you be sharing him with all of us fangirls?
Oh but the thought makes me drool a little…
March 2nd, 2006 - 01:39
Aw, Janni. Thank you. I am so touched by this gesture. *hugs*
I think the most poignant stories were written out of sadness. I don’t think this little story deserves superlatives, though. It’s rather mundane, like the rest of Uno’s life.
Uno may be a little too short for your standards.
March 4th, 2006 - 00:50
QUOTE: Uno may be a little too short for your standards.
Am I the only one who thought of this line in another way?
March 4th, 2006 - 01:11
Oh but he is hard. In fact, he is very hard.
