NOW PLAYING: Nuestra Senora Dolorosa
Today is Easter Sunday. Rock music is allowed in Catholic households once more. You may now listen to Manx Minuet’s solo piece, Nuestra Señora Dolorosa, if you click II MUSIC on Mistula.com.

Click on the photo to read more about the new Mistula update.
Another highlight of the Dolorosa update is the new edition of The Jealous God, award-winning writer Elvin Bueno’s work of fiction for Mistula. The story, which will be printed in magazines, appears for the first time on the Mistula website (click III REFLECTIONS).
“You shall not make yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me…man, this shit is heavy!†and Uno gulps a drink before he rolls his joint again.

To those who have kept vigil on the site (you people amaze us), thank you very much. This is for all of you.
Dragan, ol’ chap, you are always welcome to change your mind.
April 16th, 2006 - 21:58
This is a beautiful song Manx!
April 18th, 2006 - 18:46
Thank you! I’m very happy you liked it!
April 16th, 2006 - 23:32
That was the most complex solo piece I’ve ever heard in my entire life, and I’ve heard Zappa. Whoever is behind this band, you guys are pure genius. Frankly, I’m dying to know who you are.
April 18th, 2006 - 18:51
Well, I am dying to know who you are, too, Mister Coty.
You give us more praise than we deserve. We are but a struggling indie band, but we are proud to have someone like you in the audience.
April 17th, 2006 - 00:05
OMG that song is so sad and so beautiful and so new it made me cry. i love you, mistula.
April 18th, 2006 - 18:52
We love you, too, Mathilde. Thank you!
April 17th, 2006 - 00:11
Absolutly stunnig song- the skill of Mistula and the prodution of the songs impoves each new work that you bestow upon your waiting audience.
April 18th, 2006 - 18:56
You inspire us to be better. Thank you so much.
April 17th, 2006 - 02:20
manx should teach emo bands how to translate their sadness into something as graceful and poetic. you guys rule.
April 18th, 2006 - 18:57
I guess each and every one has their own way of expressing sadness. There is emo, and there is Mistula. But frankly, I’m glad you’re on this side. Thank you!
April 17th, 2006 - 02:20
Where’s OUR song Manx?? *weeps*
April 18th, 2006 - 18:59
… I’m, um, working on it!
April 17th, 2006 - 02:21
You are the band this country desperately needs. Enough of those redundant pogi rock bands and copycats like Orange and Lemons. I understand you’re too good for local radio, but Mistula needs to enlighten the local listeners.
Mabuhay kayo!
April 18th, 2006 - 19:08
Pogi si Uno, ah. Does that make us Pogi Rock?
We could’ve easily topped Orange and Lemons if we kept Dragan. He has REAL British accent.
April 20th, 2006 - 18:21
aside from his real british accent, dragan would be the only one who can refer to himself as a *bloke* due to his provenance. them orange and lemons wussies have been heard introducing themselves as *the blokes from marikina*. excuse me while i find the toilet (insert vomiting sounds here).
April 17th, 2006 - 02:22
Please ignore Damien. Manx *hugs* thank you for this gift, I will be awaiting your UK tour.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:12
NOOOO! I WANT YOU TO COME BACK!
April 17th, 2006 - 02:42
That voice touched parts of me I never knew existed. I wish I can understand Filipino because my friend just told me Mistula songs/poems are literature of the highest order. Mistula is genius.
April 17th, 2006 - 03:03
You can chose to see the lyrics in english too.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:19
Yes, a lot has been lost in translation. There are certain nuances that cannot be properly communicated in English, sadly. We just hope Manx’s music is able to convey what cannot be put into words.
Thank you, and please send our thanks to your friend as well.
April 17th, 2006 - 06:26
Music is truly great when the tears flow and nothing else sounds as good. That’s how I felt after listening to the new song.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:19
Thank you very much, Mara. Nothing could’ve made me happier.
April 17th, 2006 - 08:15
If only people would take the time to appreciate such beautiful, genuine poetic music… but I think they’d rather wait for Uno to wear tubes and skimpy mini-skirts and start shaking his booty with a novelty song on the background. Such a suicidal thing to do. *shudders*
Nevertheless, you guys are great. I’m a fan.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:41
Well, there are those people. There are also those people who mourn the fact that we cannot play live (but we’re working on that). And there are those who don’t care about our music at all and just want me and Lugosi to get it on.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:43
Where the hell did you get that idea?
Anyways, thank you, Feliz. We’re glad you’re listening.
April 17th, 2006 - 08:53
It’s a very beautiful, Manx. Kinda creepy but very pretty.
Gusto kong umiyak. ;___;
April 18th, 2006 - 19:44
Four pesos for one pack of tissues!
April 18th, 2006 - 20:08
If the four pesos helps fund your “Save Veritas From Lobo” project, I’ll take them all.
April 17th, 2006 - 09:29
Bravo Ms. Minuet, a masterpiece… an obra…
The angels are singing your song…
April 18th, 2006 - 19:44
Thank you, Jenova.
April 17th, 2006 - 11:05
This is going on repeat for the next couple of hours. I can’t believe the feel of this song… so empty and graceful. I’m far from a musical conoisseur, but to me, music is GOOD when it makes you feel like this. Thank you, Manx and Mistula.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:46
See, Emera, you always give the most educated reviews of our songs. You must be a music connoisseur. Thank you very much.
April 17th, 2006 - 12:08
I love Manx’s new song. It brought tears to my eyes. I LOVE The Jealous God. Mr. Bueno placed Mistula in an entirely new setting without losing their character. He knows them so well. Which magazine is it going to be published? I would dearly love to have a copy!
April 18th, 2006 - 19:48
We’re not sure when it will be published, but when it does, we’ll let you know! Thank you so much for always appreciating our work, Janni. We love you.
April 17th, 2006 - 12:16
The song was cool… and really good… REALLY good. Manx rules! ^^,
April 18th, 2006 - 19:48
I’m so glad you like it. Thank you very much.
April 17th, 2006 - 12:34
I am in love with the new song – there is just so much to it. Even without the beautiful lyrics, the sound is breathtaking. I am in love with her voice, and all it can do. *___*
Thank you so much for sharing your music with us! You are all incredible. ♥
April 18th, 2006 - 19:52
Aw, Yuki, thank you so much for listening. And thank you so much for leaving this message. I will read it whenever I’m feeling unsure of myself. *hugs*
April 17th, 2006 - 12:46
Manx, you’re beautiful.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:52
Uno told me you are, too, Nicky. Thank you very much.
April 17th, 2006 - 16:41
Twas such a beautiful song-poem, Manx. Took me a couple of tries to download (no thanks to my crappy internet connection), but twas definitely worth it.
April 18th, 2006 - 19:55
Maraming salamat, Jie. And I’m sorry about your Internet connection. I hope we didn’t take too much of your time.
April 17th, 2006 - 22:42
The song is sooo beautiful it hurts.
April 18th, 2006 - 20:10
Must be because it came from a broken heart. But thank you, Imoel.
April 18th, 2006 - 10:13
am in love with the voice. this is flowing sonic poetry. i liked the way most of the song was spoken, and the lyrics were very, very… argh! it was just goddamn brilliant! i think the Lord might forgive me if i start worshipping your songwriting prowess instead of Him.
much love goes out to Manx. such a healing song that’s torturous at the same time to sing. nakakaiyak.
April 18th, 2006 - 10:19
ikaw ang gitara sa aking gitara / at kay nipis ng lahat dahil wala ka
favorite line. so beautiful, it’s almost scary.
April 18th, 2006 - 20:28
Goodness, this is too much.
THANK YOU. I don’t know if we deserve all that but, again, thank you. You made me very, very happy.
April 20th, 2006 - 04:50
Beautiful ~*~**~*~
Encore !* Encore!*
(^_^)
April 25th, 2006 - 12:36
;_; I wanna listen to it s bad now… (My computer’s been going wonky these past few days and no sound will come out of the speakers, even when I changed the speakers numerous times already… *mutters* I really should persuade my mom to go out sometime and buy recordable CDs…)
April 25th, 2006 - 12:39
Oh, yeah… About the ‘The Jealous God’, which magazine(s?) will it come out from? I wanna go buy a copy, if ever. ^^ (And maybe another copy for back-up…)
April 25th, 2006 - 13:11
Aha~! I finally found a way to listen to it!!! XD (I just d/l-ed it and listened to it in my sister’s iPod!! Hahaha!!! Of course, she doesn’t know yet that I used her iPod since she’s asleep so shhh!!! Hehe…)
Manx: It was really good and you have a very high reach! *_*
