Mistula Sightings
We’ve recently been told that Mistula appeared in CandyMag and/or Meg magazines. Has anyone here seen these issues? And if you’ve seen Mistula in other magazines, can you please let us know? It’s nice to see oneself in print once in a while, but emails and complimentary copies from publishers are hard to come by in this country. Our manager / stylist / photographer / web designer / roadie, who usually is on top of these things, is currently buried in work – the kind that keeps her locked inside a room with food and drinks being served regularly to inhibit mobility – so she barely has time for Mistula and well, pretty much everything else. Other local publications where you might find Mistula are Pulp and Story Philippines. Manx is also hoping she’ll find herself on the cover of FHM.

Joey works hard but not hard enough.
Thank you very much for the support!

omg the pinky joey has a doll so cuuute! X3 is that chibi uno?
are any of these magazines sold online? i’m not from the philippines but i’d like to see mistula on print, too. *_*
June 1st, 2006 - 13:27
He originally is a chibi Kyo Kusanagi but for now, he can be Chibi Uno.
The Philippines doesn’t have a big online market, and I doubt if any of these magazines are sold over the Net. If you want any, I can send you some.
June 1st, 2006 - 19:42
That’s Kyo Kusanagi? I thought that was Sie Kensou, because of the shorts and all. ^_^x
Anyway, Manx on FHM might push me to buy a non-back issue FHM on the spot
especially if Veritas is there rawr.June 2nd, 2006 - 12:00
YOU ARE RIGHT! It’s Sie Kensou! (My comic nerd friend said he looks like Kyo Kusanagi.) But you’re right because he’s part of Athena Asamiya’s Pinky:Cos set. Thanks, Jie!

I’ve seen Mistula on two issues of Rock Nation. I don’t read Meg or Candy but I can try to check those out for you. Tell Manx Mistula is being talked about in the FHM forum, and in many other forums, for that matter. Bella Lugosi also seems to be worshipped in the underground goth communities. You guys have gone far!
June 1st, 2006 - 13:35
Who is being worshipped? Our Bella Lugosi or Bela Lugosi who Bauhaus said is dead/undead?
Thanks for the heads up!
If you kept any links to the forums you mentioned, would you please email them to us? Our email is webmessiah@mistula.com. Maraming salamat!
June 2nd, 2006 - 12:06
The Bella Lugosi with an extra L as in libog.
I’ll email you links soon. It’s more likely for Mistula to be on Meg because they seem to be fascinated with rock bands lately. Candy is all teenage kikay fluff.
June 4th, 2006 - 19:20
Salamat po!
May 31st, 2006 - 21:43
Candy/Meg has thought of a good way to boost their mag sales. I never read these two (I hardly read any mags aside from Photoshop stuffies, I’m such a dork), but knowing that Mistula is there… *grins*
June 1st, 2006 - 13:40
It’s a little surprising for Mistula to be on any of these teen magazines. They love pink and cute things. And in the Candy forum, Mistula appeared in the same thread with the Bratz Rock Angels.
May 31st, 2006 - 21:44
I saw you guys in a goth magazine! They had a small photo of Lugosi which is now in my wallet.
June 1st, 2006 - 13:41
Thanks for the info, Mathilde! Which magazine would this be? We were contacted by a goth magazine from the US once, but they never told us if the article was printed or not.
June 2nd, 2006 - 11:55
Defunkt, if I’m not mistaken. I’ll email you the scans.
June 4th, 2006 - 19:19
Thanks, Mistress M!
May 31st, 2006 - 22:22
woah, layo na talaga ng narating ng mistula (and I’m pretty confident that you’d still go mucg farther). Anyway, I’ll make sure to buy lots ofdifferent magazines to keep in touch of mistula’s popularity… ^_^
June 1st, 2006 - 13:45
Thanks, Jazelle! When I have the time, I’ll probably head to National’s magazine section and flip through the magazines.
I guess I’m just curious to find out what they had to say about Mistula.
June 1st, 2006 - 02:24
That’s nice!
But I don’t think I’ll see you where I live. I live in Sweden, in Europe if you never heard of Sweden.
June 1st, 2006 - 13:50
Of course we’ve heard of Sweden and Grona Lund! Who knows, maybe Mistula will have a Swedish tour someday!
June 1st, 2006 - 21:30
That would be great! I can show you everything that’s worth to see in Sweden then.
…But you will never come here, right? :’(
June 2nd, 2006 - 12:01
Why not? We will never be able to refuse an invitation.
June 2nd, 2006 - 12:57
Good! I invite you!
June 1st, 2006 - 13:51
Hey, Hanna, can I swap postcards with you? Send me one from Sweden and I’ll send you one from the Philippines!
June 1st, 2006 - 21:23
Yey!
Yes, yes, yes, pleeease! ^^
June 2nd, 2006 - 12:03
Awright! I’m collecting postcards from all over the world. I’ll send one on your way soon.
June 2nd, 2006 - 13:02
I want to Uno. :p Even if you’re just joking! ^^’
June 2nd, 2006 - 15:17
You are one skeptic girl. I’m not joking. Please email your address to webmessiah@mistula.com!
June 2nd, 2006 - 20:39
I’m known as that. ^^’
Absolutely!
June 1st, 2006 - 02:27
azteeg!!! legal silang andun o illegal? which issues daw?
June 1st, 2006 - 13:59
Sin talaga o, kaya nga tinatanong ko, ‘di ko alam. What do you mean by “legal or illegal”? If they asked for permission? Magazine writers can pretty much write about any topic they fancy without having to ask for permission – that’s how it’s always been. Kaya nga freedom of the press. Unless of course, it’s an interview. Then again, sometimes even interviews are fabricated.
June 2nd, 2006 - 12:08
Korek!
June 1st, 2006 - 09:54
Which issue? I’ll look for it~!
June 1st, 2006 - 14:03
I don’t know. That’s why I asked. I was hoping someone here is better-informed? (^^;
June 2nd, 2006 - 17:45
I’ll try and check the past 5 issues we currently have, since our office gets complimentary copies of every magazine from Summit and Mega
it’s a pity we dont have FHM though. lol.
I’ve been as far as March 2006 for Candy and Meg but no luck yet. I’ll try Jan and February. But I still might’ve missed something. The only thing I found so far that mentions mistula.com is a small info on Hannah, in the Teen Spirit Article (Meg 2006)
June 2nd, 2006 - 21:31
You rock, girl, thank you.
I was just a little surprised when I was told about it because it’s pretty odd for Mistula to be on Meg, much more Candy. Mistula is too unusual and underground for their tastes.
June 3rd, 2006 - 09:19
Lol. Yes. It’s very unlikely for Mistula to be in such teeny-boppy mags, with pastel and/or bright colors. Haha.
Anyway, I’ll try my best. Yosh! I’ll check out the other mags we have as well. You’ll never know
June 3rd, 2006 - 09:20
Sorry. Meg, March 2006 *kicks typo*
June 23rd, 2006 - 16:21
Candy and Meg magazines? O_o;;; O~kay… Uhh… Since it hasn’t been found, I’ll go… wade through my sister’s pigsty-like magazine bin if there’s any mention… (Okay, so it’s not that messy but messier than my side of the room…)
