The Serpent from Paradise City
The newest member of Mistula is Slash. He is Manx’s newfound love.

You will find Slash wrapped around Manx Minuet on the banner of the official Mistula band site. He will also make an appearance in the upcoming Mistula music video for Baptized, directed by Eric Sanchez and Mike Fallarme.
Eric found Slash in a pet store while looking for a snake to fill the role of, well, a snake in his music video. The crew planned to let Slash go after the shoot, but Manx Minuet was smitten with the green fellow and amid violent objections, decided to keep him as a pet.
She named her Slash because she said he came from a snake pit deep in the jungle. (Eric said he came from the storage room of an exotic pet store, but Manx won’t believe him.)
She insists that Slash is a small python, but the encyclopedia (which Manx hates to read) states that he is a Thamnophis sauritus sackenii or a Peninsular Ribbon Snake. He likes rock, goldfish and posing in front of the camera. He can hold a pose longer than Manx Minuet. He can even say “Cheesssssssse.”
To Slash we say, “Welcome to the jungle!”

Slash isn’t difficult to work with at all. He doesn’t fuss or bite. He tries to run away once in a while, but when he finds a cozy spot (e.g. Manx’s boobs), he stays there until you move him. He likes to be on the spotlight – maybe because it feels a lot like basking in the sun. Or maybe he just likes to bask in the attention, who knows?

I blame these awful B-movies that portrayed them as man-eating monsters. Truth is, they’re very shy animals that would rather run than fight. Slash is a lover, not a fighter.
