Life Begins Anew

February 11, 2008. A dream is made real for Joey and Rey.

It took Joey and Rey two years to find the right people to build their first home, and gave up 52 weekends to make sure it’s built right.

Engineer Sam Agustin (in the white shirt) constructed the house from Architect Leng Berdin’s (ponytailed girl in red) blueprint.

Their first house guests were the Lycantroops. Two episodes of War of the Wolves were shot during one of Joey and Rey’s weekend site visits.

Joey thought the construction site provided the perfect background for the Lycans’ reunion and fight scenes.

She took nearly 300 photos of their eventful rendezvous, and lost half of them to a faulty hard drive.

When she came back to re-take the shots, the Shelf was already being painted. So the War of the Wolves was not as cataclysmic as Joey hoped it would be, as it ensued inside their tiny flat in Makati.

I visited the house once to meet Architect Leng and her daughter, who wanted to have their pictures taken with me.

Someday, when I become a real rockstar, I’m going to hire her to design my own mansion, which hopefully will be featured on MTV Cribs where I will get my chance to say, “Now you’ve seen my crib, now get the hell out!”

Then I wouldn’t have to live with Rey and listen to Metallica all day.

For now, I will have to live with the rest of the resin residents at the Mistula Complex, a complex structure with doll-sized rooms, cabinets and cubbyhole for cats. It was skillfully constructed by Mang Mario (wearing a purple bandanna ala Axl Rose) from Joey’s design.

Fabo made the house more special by climbing up a 20-foot scaffolding to paint a mural. He survived.

Hannah illustrated a story that flowed around the house.

Puchikuchi scratched cryptic symbols on the floorboards. We have yet to decipher what they mean.

Dec 12, 2008. Joey and Rey named their first house The Shelf, and promptly filled it with books, toys, cats, treasured things, and whenever possible, friends. They left plenty of room for new stories and adventures.
Shelf, I’m coming home soon.

The Shelf
…quite apt for such a place. ^__^;;
congratulations on that, Miss Joey. =)
March 25th, 2009 - 20:22
Thank you!
March 27th, 2009 - 03:28
It’s not much, but I can never congratulate you enough, Miss Joey.
a little more than a week after hitting the HISTORY tab (and therefore keeping up with the years I missed), I’m more than ready for the next update. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and wait patiently.
Kudos to you. Stay healthy. =)
Uno: I so love your one-liners. anlupit mo bumanat.XD *hugs*

Uno: I so love your one-liners. anlupit mo bumanat.XD *hugs*
Thanks but – I wrote more than just one line. I wrote this entire blog.
And again, thanks for reading the entire blog!
Unfortunately, my roadie and erstwhile secretary, Joey, has different priorities right now so the updates are taking ages. I will glare at her the next time she comes home.
March 27th, 2009 - 22:30
well, I was referring to the ‘many’ one-liners -if there was such a term. ’cause I’m an idiot like that.XD- over the expanse of this entire blog. (…pardon my phrasing. or do I need to dig my hole and jump in?)
March 30th, 2009 - 14:10
Digging a hole and jumping in sounds like fun. Just don’t cover the hole. You might suffocate and die. We don’t want that to happen.
March 31st, 2009 - 20:52
Covering the hole was exactly my plan. So others won’t fall in. But it’s nice to know you’d care though we barely know each other.
April 1st, 2009 - 10:42
My life is an open book, er, blog. So you do know me well enough – and that’s enough for me to care about you.
If you do decide to cover your hole, make sure to leave a small gap to let in some air, and don’t forget to bring some bottled water, a can of biscuits, change of clothes, pillow and blanket, and maybe a reading material or two. It would also be nice to dig a hole in a WIFI zone so I can check up on you once in a while.
April 2nd, 2009 - 14:15
You are so sweet a guy, its no wonder there are so many people (regardless of make) who love you. Me included. =) Thank you.
A nice idea. But all those stuff + me = I don’t think it will fit in the hole.XD And I know I won’t stay long in there, as I have summer classes. T_T
March 18th, 2009 - 21:33
Best house EVER.
March 25th, 2009 - 20:23
Most biased comment EVER!

Ack. I wish I could’ve come with everybody else for the After Meet! XD Then I’d been able to have witnessed its full glory. I can find no words to describe it. I hope I can come over with my very own BJD one day. (I’m waiting for her arrival!) It’d be an honor! ;D
March 30th, 2009 - 13:55
It certainly is hard to describe something you haven’t seen, Asuka.
I wish you and your BJD a tax-free arrival!
March 31st, 2009 - 13:49
*sigh* I wonder if I should’ve bribed my cousin into teaching me how to drive. (I’m quite young, but I stand 5’4 ft. tall XD) Ah well, thanks for the blessing. I promise to turn her into a faithful follower of Mistula the best way I can.
