Why We Look Forward To Easter

Crossposted on Mistula: Revelations.

Lent is upon us, and that means ’tis the season for Mistula updates once again!

Here’s a clip from the newest Mistula track, “Salamat sa Iyo, Manikako” (Thank You, Manikako), set to have its world wide web premiere on Easter Sunday, 12 April 2009.

Manikako Kids
Clockwise from top left: Christina, Grace, Marilou and Mary Jean (with Manikako Manx) are from Cambridge Street, Cubao and were among the first participants of a Manikako workshop.

Manikako is a charity project that helps less fortunate children by selling do-it-yourself ragdolls and conducting free art workshops.

The song is a gift from the band, who are loyal advocates of the project and its cause.

Well, I have to make the most out of the spare time. Monday marks the first of summer classes, and I’ll be on-duty for most of the week T_T …such is the life of a Tamaraw student nurse.

  6. The new track is growing on me. Hope I come home in time!

  7. I’ve been meaning to ask for awhile now…I accumulate all sorts of fibery odds and ends weaving and knitting…they’d make for great bits of Manikako. When I get enough stockpiled to make it worth your while, is there any way I could send ‘em your way?

    • Oh, that’s awesome to hear, Pix! Joey will be happy to accept your Manikako donations. I’ll ask her to PM you our address on LJ. Thanks very much! :D

  8. This little clip you’ve posted already makes me feel all warm and gooey inside, so I can’t wait to hear the full version when it’s posted on Sunday.

    GO MISTULA GO!

    • So nice to hear from you, Molly! :D

The new song won’t be released the usual way, as we opted to do something new for Manikako. I hope you like what we have for you this Sunday!

  9. FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for the release of that song. hehehe. Yey for Manikako! Go Mistula!! ^__^

    • Ah, a very familiar face: Manikako volunteer and our very own Mistula roadie, Tin! You are obliged to check our website on Sunday! No excuses!

Lugosi asked me to post that. Honest.

I hope you’re having a wonderful time in Quezon! ;)

      • You should come over to Quezon again during Holy Week. I believe Lucban’s Good Friday mass and procession is a sight Lord Lugosi would certainly love to see. :3

Just heard the song. It’s wonderful! The intro kinda reminds me of Filipino folk music. Maybe its the clapping. hehe
