MISTULA
Barbie meets Chucky.
Imagine if all those dolls you had as a kid got their hair spiked, grabbed adorable tiny guitars and started spouting terrifying Sepultura riffs. That’s Mistula, the Philippines’ first virtual band. Tracks like “Baptized” make it clear that the ball-jointed foursome like nothing better than some grinding Korn-style anguish. But then, you’d be angry if your eyes were painted on.
Hey, our eyes are not painted on. But before I inspire Joey to launch into an hour-long discussion about the complexities of being a ball-jointed, chart-topping rockstar, I will just sit back and laugh.
And yes, dear humans, the fearsome foursome still rules the Overplay Charts.

A happy thought, but only possible in an imaginary world with imaginary music charts. But here we are, living in a world of too-real bands and too-real critiques. I ought to do a Chucky on Joey and Rey.
