What a mad, MAAD weekend!

Manikako’s MAAD weekend at the red dot design museum was a blast. We had a fantastic time, thanks to all the friends who came, kept us company, brought dolls, bought dolls, made dolls and helped out at the booth. This weekend wouldn’t have been as mad without you.

Manikako’s second stint at MAAD is Itsy’s idea. The Manikako crew lived in her pretty house in Singapore and kept her sleepless for four days. Thanks, Itsy! Our secret is still safe; I think Joey lost the incriminating photos.

Our dear friends, Almark, Mae and Djinn announced our visit to the Singapore doll community, so Lugosi and I weren’t the only BJDs in the museum. It was great to be surrounded by resin friends.

Well, I think Lugosi was a bit overwhelmed. He looked more constipated than usual.

Dolls meet dolls: On the left, members of the Singapore doll community huddle around BJDs, and on the right, the Manikako booth and its patrons. All around us, curious onlookers.

We were also glad to find familiar faces at MAAD – all of them quite happy to see us back. Candy and Edwin of White Dog Bobby, both MAAD veterans, with their mascots Hungry and Yuki, show off their Manikako selves! Thanks for the donations, Candy and Edwin!

The exhausted but exhilarated Manikako crew: From left, Trisha, Joey, Gabie, Itsy, Lugosi (who bought himself a Manikako Joey to boss around), me (Uno), and Carl after a mad, MAAD weekend. Thank you very much to all of you who came to support us! We hope to see you again in Singapore soon!
Joey has 600 more photos in her card and we hope to share some of them with you before she loses them again. (She lost all the photos she took from our first Manikako gig at MAAD two years ago, ye gods.) Keep it here for more peeks from our MAAD weekend in Singapore!

Lugosi mingling in public? There’s a shock.
September 13th, 2009 - 19:12
I guess he won’t be going out for a long, long time after this experience.
September 12th, 2009 - 11:51
The photos are great! *_* <3 The Manikako booth looks awesome.
September 13th, 2009 - 19:14
Thanks, Nix! But Joey wished you were there so she didn’t have to take photos.
She’s already juggling too many tasks: sewing Manikakos, talking to people, playing with dolls and making sure we’re not falling on our faces.
September 13th, 2009 - 03:28
My dear uno, it was bliss meeting you in the resin again <3 and of cos finally meeting Lugosi too ^^
Had lots of fun XDDDD
Oh! And please tell evil boss Joey.. I’ll get my pay from her the next time I see her! *Evil smirk*
September 13th, 2009 - 19:23
Gwen! ♥
Thanks for coming to see me again. I’m sure you didn’t come to see Lugosi, right? I had so much fun. Next time, Sho and I are going to exchange clothes so I can run away with you. I’m sure Joey won’t notice the difference.
The bossy Joey said she will gladly pay for Sho.
September 15th, 2009 - 02:55
Of cos!~ You’ll always be my Numero Uno.. you know that~ ♥
Next time I’ll bring an extra set of Sho’s clothes so that I can bring you home along with Sho!
And Uno, please tell evil boss Joey that I’ll only remotely possibly consider to sell Sho to her if she uses you & Lugosi as payment >D
