Nicole Limos’ 33 Questions for Mistula For Nix

Flowery Words

October 30th, 2009

Joey thanks everybody who remembered her birthday last Thursday, October 22 – and thanks Facebook’s birthday alarm, too, or she wouldn’t have remembered it herself. Old age can take a toll on one’s memory, and Joey never had a good one to start off with.

This year, the first person to greet her at the stroke of 12 is Krishna – and she was also first last year. (Thank you, Krishna!) Rey has been disqualified on the basis of affinity, even if he started greeting Joey every single day for an entire week before her birthday. (Thank you, Rey. Sigh.)

NO TO INTERNET THEFT

Recently, Joey has grown to love gardening as old people are wont to. She claims to derive so much wisdom from planting seeds, trimming hedges and occasionally screaming at the sight of earthworms (which she is deathly afraid of). From gardening, she has learned that ‘a flower is a plant that rises above the weeds’ and ‘a coffee bean, when planted on a magnet mushroom, will disarm all the zombies’.*

Her birthday gift from Rey is a quiet, lovely lunch at Antonio’s in Tagaytay and new flowering plants for her garden. On her next birthday, Joey hopes he will give her a garden. With fireflies and fire trees, preferably.

NO TO INTERNET THEFT

Joey’s pretty gardening hat is a gift from Gabie. Behind her is the once-small thumbergia called Crawly, who is now plotting to devour our house.

To Rey, she will always be the little bully in pigtails – and that won’t change in a long, long time.

NO TO INTERNET THEFT

Rey bought the cake and ate it, too.

* We refuse to believe that the only reason Joey is into plants is so she can protect our home from zombies, which Rey has reportedly seen lurching on Marcos Highway. He was not kidding when he said this.

Thank you very much, dear Janne! Yes, let us hope zombies never trample on my flowers. Maybe I should plant venus fly traps, too?

A well-placed jalapeño should eliminate an entire lane of zombies in an instant. ;)

A belated Happy Birthday to you Joey! :D I wanna have a cute little magnetshroom from you in case you were able to grow a whole bunch on them in your garden (j/k!) (mine’s already populated with them red-eyed doomshrooms O.o””).

Thank you, Jen!

Doomshrooms leave crates that ruin the landscape! I’m going to plant you some gloomshrooms; Reiaiah might like them. ;)

Once again, happy birthday Joey! :D My, my, what a nice garden you have there. I hope for one too, but that’s technically–if not virtually–impossibe to achieve here in the metro for normal city folk. Hey, got Mums and Zinnias? Oh, that would be so wonderful. Freya just loves gardening too, as her tita is a florist.

OMG, good plan Joey! 8O The zombies will never get to your house so long as you have enough sunflowers and pea-shooters! :)

Thanks for the birthday greeting and compliments to the garden, Andy – even if you can hardly see my garden! :D

Is Freya’s tita a real person or is she a doll concept? (What an odd question.) I don’t have zinnias, only Malaysian mums and some tropical flowers. I’m planning to grow some lilies and maybe some shrooms should the zombies decide to attack at night. ;)

Once again, I greet you the happiest happy birthday, Joey! Freya loves gardening and flowers too, as her tita is a florist.

YES! :) Keep up the gardening and the zombies won’t even come close! :D I take you’ve planted just about enough sunflowers and peashooters? (Sorry, just think this might be a real-life version of Plants vs. Zombies! XDXDXDXDXDXD)

A Joey post! So adorable <3 Although I was the first to greet you, I guess I’m probably the last to post a comment. Oh my.

Anyway, you must have such a well-protected house with all those lovely plants you’ve got! XD It must have lots of sunlight and coins, too, since I see lots of flowers there. Must be a Zen garden?
