Duende’s ADventure (Part 2)
Wait, have you read first part?
“Here, tiger tiger. Here, tiger tiger…”
On the last day of Congress, Joey and Rey moved out of their hotel to stay with their friends, Gabie and Leo, in Biniktikan, a village inside Subic Bay. Biniktikan is close to the Subic rainforest and – Duende hoped – to the tigers.
Much to her dismay, the only cat she encountered is Gabie’s Tool. Not exactly her idea of a big cat in the genus Panthera. He’s a… cat of the fat kind.
“You can has a problemz wid dat?”
Duende was not about to give up on the world’s few remaining wildlife (which may not include Tool), but seeing that her companions were more excited about the parties ahead, she ventured out and did some exploring around Leo’s picturesque garden.
“Om shanti… om zzzzz…”
The Philippine Advertising Congress culminates with the Araw Awards Night, and more people from creative shops and other media outfits would join the delegates to take part in the show (and the partying later on). Gabie, Joey and Rey hoped their finalists will turn into trophies at midnight.
And they did.
So they all partied hard and forgot about tigers.
“So… why are you here now?”
“Because you will help me save the tigers! Remember you helped me find my way around the zoo? You will help me again, won’t you?”
“What made you think so?”
“Because you’re Uno! Take your time. I won’t leave until you say yes.”
I would say The End, but for Duende, this is only The Beginning.

Sorry, I wasn’t sure I understood your comment. I don’t know what you meant by “superhero to tiger”. Maybe like the Thundercats or Bronze Tiger? In that case, no. Spandex is not for me.

Haha, it’s really too bad about the tigers. But you won’t be able to get close to them ’cause you’ll be in the jeep (or whatever that car is) while you tour around the tiger area, kinda like in Singapore’s Night Safari but it isn’t during night time and… you have a sort-of cage around you… Which is a good thing for me ’cause the first time I went on the Night Safari trip, I freaked out a little when we got to the hyenas section (’cause it was open O_O) but maybe not so much a good thing for the world’s smallest environment activist like you.

Maybe you can persuade Joey and Uno to bring you to Manila Ocean Park instead of having to go back to Subic so that it’s nearer. Hehe… Or does it really have to be tigers?

Joey is restricted from traveling right now, so Duende will have to wait. She can amuse herself with the heated discussions on Greenpeace for the meantime.
Duende likes all animals. She was just keen on tigers at that time because she was hoping to see them at Zoobic. But she will save ants if she has to.

Joey’s Mom: Wow! Manx is looking good today.
Joey: Mom, this is Uno, not Manx.
Then again, men in Japan spend vast amounts of money trying to look like girls. I’m glad I do it so effortlessly.
