Preparing for the Storm: Video 1
As the dark clouds signal the end of summer, Mistula prepares for the coming of the typhoon season and its next web update.

The Things We Do For Love
I let myself be wrapped in melting plastic and left naked under the klieg lights for four hours with absolute disregard for the FRAGILE label on my box. All for the love of Mistula.
(And Lugosi has the nerve to call me a slacker? That doofus!)
I hope Mike Fallarme, the man behind Mistula’s most elaborate and painful photo shoots, reaps the rewards of my suffering. Please vote for his entry to the JPG magazine photo competion, Ahon.
Ahon (Filipino for “Rise”) was originally shot for the Baptized video. How can I forget that shoot?

Thank you very much!
A Most Extraordinary Jollibee Party (Part 1)
When Joey asked Gabie if she’s coming to my party, Gabie replied, “Of course! I’m not about to miss the Jollibee Party of the Century!”

The Jollibee Hall was decked out when we arrived. A huge Jollitown banner greeted me a Happy Birthday. The balloons were black and red as requested. Party hats and loot bags were laid out on the tables. As Rey and Derrick set up the Mistula banners, the Jollibee crew ran Joey through the evening’s programme. The party will begin with a birthday song, and upon the host’s signal, the celebrant will walk in and–
“Wait,” said Joey, Mistula roadie and now party organizer, “The birthday celebrant can’t walk.”
“Oh,” said the host, apologetically, “Is he–”
“He’s a doll.”
The party host laughed, and then realized, a little too late, that Joey was not joking. He glanced nervously at the guests: mostly adults in black, carrying dolls. “Seriously?”
Joey pointed at me, sitting at the table. “That’s our birthday boy.”
“Oh!” he said, and, “Oh. So that’s Uno? Wow. This is a first.”
Joey grinned. Behind her, Rey and Derrick deliberated where to put Manx’s banner.
“Well,” the host coughed. “I’m sure we can adjust the programme. Any more… things I should know?”
Joey gave him a reassuring pat on the back. “Just be ready for anything.”
Bee-ing Happy
Thank you for partying with me and Jollibee last Sunday, a most unforgettable day. I apologize for being too overwhelmed to speak or even blow the candle. I did weep tears of joy as soon as I got home. Joey can attest to this; she promptly reminded Rey to check the roof for leaks.
Zak’s birthday wish was for me to come alive and be a real rockstar. That day, being surrounded by cheering friends, I felt his wish come true.
