My Own Private Sleeping Beauty

I did not have to fight evil witches or dragons to find Sleeping Beauty. I have her in my room. I have kissed her, but she has not awakened. So I kiss her again.

And again.

And again.
The Mystic Minuet

Blanc Minuet is Manx’s twin sister. When Manx came home to us last year, she was bearing her pale, disembodied head. She said Blanc is only waiting to possess a willing body. Today, on New Year’s Eve, Blanc has taken over that of her sister.

Even Manx does not know how her sister fell into dreaming and then, death. She only remembers that when Blanc was well and alive, she was able to let her soul roam the astral plane while in a trance. Maybe her soul enjoyed the freedom too much, and never went back to the confines of her body. Even now, Blanc remains in deep sleep. She lives her life in a dream.

Sometimes, Blanc Minuet would mutter in her sleep. She dreams of a person’s future, Manx said once, and most of them came true. After hearing this, I became very mystified in Manx’s fortune-dreaming sister. Everyday I would sit by and watch her eyes flutter slightly open, and hope that maybe, fates be kind, she’d mutter the next winning lottery number.

Filling in Blanc
This New Year, Joey decided to give Manx’s twin sister, who came with her in the Sweet Lingerie Lishe package, a new face. Joey kept her unpainted for a long time, because her painting skills were only tested on canvas and Gundams. It is only after reading every aesthetics tutorial she could find, and asking questions from veteran doll customizers like Djinn, Jhoann and Sam, did she gather up the courage to finally paint Blanc Minuet.

Blanc has only recently risen from the dead (she used to be a floating head), so Joey thought of giving her a bluish cast under the eyes. The result was something we don’t want to contend with if Blanc really ever ever wakes up. Joey did not even take a picture of her first attempt, afraid of what she might see.
Her second attempt is this:
