What a mad, MAAD weekend!

Manikako’s MAAD weekend at the red dot design museum was a blast. We had a fantastic time, thanks to all the friends who came, kept us company, brought dolls, bought dolls, made dolls and helped out at the booth. This weekend wouldn’t have been as mad without you.
Going MAAD! (Again.)
We’re flying to Singapore tomorrow. Joey hasn’t packed. This must be why they called her “giri-giri gyaru” when she was studying in Japan. It means “last-minute girl”. In the Philippines, the term, I believe, is tan-tan-tinin.

Manikako is going to be in MAAD at the red dot design museum in Singapore this weekend, September 5 and 6, and I’ll be there with Joey, Gabie, Trish, Itsy and 225 Manikakos. I’m hoping to see Almark, Mae, Djinn and doll friends in Singapore, too! Please come and join us! We’ll be waiting for you at the Manikako booth.

See you there!
Dolls for dolls!
Two years ago, Hannah Liongoren and Gabie Osorio sought our help in promoting a cause: to teach children to rediscover hope and creativity through doll-making. And so Mistula teamed up with the organization that is now known as Manikako. Because who can better lend a hand to a group of dollmakers than the country’s first doll band?
This Easter Sunday, we fulfilled our promise to Manikako and the children who continue to create their own dolls and dream of a happier future.

You, too, can help Manikako by downloading our new song on Overplay.com for a small donation. Every download will help fund free doll-making workshops for children whose difficult circumstances do not afford them to be empowered by art lessons.

Manikako at Pinoy Woodstock!

Manikako is joining ((aMp))’s Pinoy Woodstock in Ateneo this Friday, September 19! Please visit Joey and Gabie at the booth, and buy a handmade doll or two!
